Forbes House Christmas Program
The approaching holiday season brings to mind memories of happy times with family and friends. It is during these times we are especially thankful for the blessings in our lives, the smiling faces of our children, the good health of loved ones, and the abundance and aroma of delicious and special holiday meals. Too often, unfortunately, we find ourselves unaware of others in our community who struggle to overcome a life marred by violence and abuse.
Forbes House, Lake County’s only shelter for victims of domestic violence, provides a safe, temporary home to those suffering from the pain of abuse. We offer a continuum of services, including a 24-hour helpline, peer counseling, court advocacy, and community education.
For over 25 years, with generous support from our community, the Forbes House Christmas Program has assisted victims of domestic violence who might not otherwise be able to celebrate the holidays with food and gifts. In the giving spirit of the season, we ask your help by providing a Christmas for an “adopted” family or individual, or by making a donation that we can use to provide a happy holiday for those trying to live a violence free life.
If your company or you would like to participate in our Christmas adoption program, or make a Christmas donation, please complete and return the enclosed form as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding this program, please feel free to contact Susan at 440-357-1018, Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
On behalf of those who will benefit from your kindness and generosity, we thank you with all our hearts. Our wish for you, your loved ones, and the entire community is a holiday filled with love, peace, and joy.
Thank you for your generous support, and please let us know if you have any questions.
* Forbes House maintains a confidentially policy to protect the identities and privacy of those participating in the Forbes House Christmas Program. Only assigned numbers are provided on Wish Lists, and it is not possible to meet the recipients or deliver gifts directly to their homes. Thank you for your understanding.
** Please note that Christmas gifts must be new items. All baby and children’s items must be in accordance with current safety standards. Please no toy weapons.
