As a small nonprofit organization, Forbes House understands the importance of community and honors that commitment through outreach, education and prevention. Awareness and education are the keys to abuse and violence prevention. It is our goal to end the cycle of domestic violence through outreach education in the schools, in the courts and in the community.
Our Community Educators speak with individuals and groups at schools, jails, juvenile institutions, rehabilitation centers, community groups, businesses, churches, health and wellness fairs and every opportunity available to end the cycle of domestic violence. Issues relating to domestic violence, dating violence and healthy relationships are addressed.
Content includes but is not be limited to evidence-based curriculum, topics about the different types of abuse, profile of an abuser, warning signs, how to get help, and how to help others who may be in need.
Forbes House is committed to ending the cycle of abuse by educating and engaging
the community.
If you are interested in having Forbes House speak to your staff, students or community, please fill out our form and you will be contacted within 72 hours of inquiry. Thank you for helping us end the cycle of domestic violence!
Community engagement is extremely important to the work that Forbes House is doing to break the cycle of violence in Lake County. We have a Community Engagement Team to attend events, tabling engagements, seminars, staff meetings, and training opportunities to ensure that everyone is aware of Forbes House as the services we provide.
